What I've Been Reading

First They Killed My Father, by Loung Ung. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, by Anne Fadiman. Totally 5 out of 5 stars. Engrossing and emotional.

The Man in My Basement, Walter Mosely. 2 out of 5 stars.

When I was Puerto Rican, Esmerelda Santiago. 3 out of 5 stars.

Her Fearful Symmetry, Audrey Nieffeneger. 5 out of 5. It's possible I like this one even better than the Time Traveller's Wife. Audrey may be making it onto my favorite authors list, alongside Margaret Atwood, Barbara Kingsolver, and John Irving.
