My Oscar pics for 2006

I must admit that I have been ignoring my blogging lately. I decided it was about damn time for another post, and what better to post than my personal Oscar pics for '06?

There are so many great films, actors, and actresses to choose from this year. I have seen 4 out of the 5 films up for Best Picture, and it is one close race this year. Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Crash, and Good Night, and Good Luck are all excellent films. (I'm only leaving out Munich because I haven't watched all of it, so I cannot vouch for it quite yet.) Overall, it's been a great year of films.

Without further ado, here are my pics (and guesses, for those films I haven't yet seen):

Best Picture: Brokeback Mountain. (Although I give Good Night, and Good Luck a very, very, very close 2nd.)

Best Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffman in Capote. A simply brilliant performance as Capote.

Best Actress: Felicity Huffman, Transamerica.

Best Supporting Actor: George Clooney, Syriana.

Best Supporting Actress: Michelle Williams, Brokeback Mountain.

Best Direction: Brokeback Mountain

We'll just have to see how my choices hold up on Oscar night.

You really DON'T have to get out of bed in the morning

Yup, it is true. Stay in your bed all day if you want to. I want one of these!

Also, check out these neat pics of Mexico City from the air. It's a really amazing city and often overlooked by tourists who want nothing to do with anything Mexican but the warm sunny beaches. It's a great city to be sure to visit at least once in your life. Mexico City is rich in culture and history. The pyramids were, by far, my favorite!

'Tis all for now.
